When Should You See a Vascular Surgeon?

When to seek a vascular assessment, and which symptoms warrant a consultation.

A vascular surgeon consultation is appropriate when symptoms appear such as walking pain, a wound that will not heal, symptomatic varicose veins, or when a finding is detected on imaging.

In many cases referral is made via a medical referral, but you can also seek a consultation independently for assessment and a second opinion.

Early assessment supports appropriate treatment planning and long-term follow-up.
